Intermediate (Level 2), Advanced (Level 3)

As an Apprentice in Adult Care with Carlisle College, you will make a positive difference to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, or intellectual challenges. You will be expected to exercise judgement and take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control.

Apprentices in Adult Care may work in residential homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, or in some clinical healthcare settings. Apprentices are to work within their own professional boundaries, training limits and expertise, in addition to the standards and codes of practice for their role. Further to this, you will observe and ensure a duty of care to your clients and colleagues.

An Apprentice’s job is to aid with the coordination of social activities and the monitoring health, as well as providing assistance with eating, mobility and personal care. You will also be required to create and develop a care plan based on your client’s preferences and the way they want to be supported. The care plan must then be monitored and reviewed in response to the changing physical, social and emotional needs of individuals. Apprentices are expected to help others maintain compliance with regulations and organisational policies and procedures.

We can tailor the apprenticeships to suit the business needs of an individual employer.
