Course Content

You will cover 9 units from the following list with a practical test at the end, including Keyskills.

Method of Study

There will be a combination of workshop based practical activities supported by formal demonstrations and classroom activities covering the required underpinning knowledge.

Method of Assessment

You will be assessed by undertaking practical tasks which will be marked against industrial standards. These will be marked by assessors. There will also be written and oral questioning, to satisfy the assessor that you have the necessary job knowledge and understanding, as well as a multiple choice health and safety test and a multiple choice knowledge test both of which are externally set and marked.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grades D-G or equivalent, or Construction Skills Diploma at Level 1, alongside the successful completion of the appropriate Key Skills to support achievement in this vocational area. Mature students with relevant experience and/or other qualifications may be eligible.

What Can I Do Next?

On successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma, you may progress to the Diploma Level 3 in Plastering, or take up a position as a trainee plasterer in industry and follow an NVQ training programme.

ADDITIONAL COSTS: Protective footwear will need to be worn in practical sessions.
