2330 L2 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
This programme is designed for those wishing to pursue a career in the electrical industry. The course provides the theoretical knowledge and also the practical skills required by an electrician to install and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial electrical systems.

Entry Requirements:
You need to be 16 or over. Maths and English GCSEs at grade D and above will be required plus 2 other GCSEs at grades D-G or equivalent. Mature students with relevant experience and/or other qualifications may be eligible and you will be given a short informal interview.
Method of Study
There will be a mixture of theory backed up by practical skills. The course input is split 50/50 between theory and practical activities which include a variety of wiring systems.
You will need to satisfy competence standards of Performance Criteria, Technology Theory and Associated Studies. A work placement carrying out electrical installation projects would be beneficial for one day a week if possible but is not essential.
Method of Assessment
Assessment will be in house and made up of assignments, practical assessments and on-line multiple choice tests.
Progression Routes
Successful completion of year one will result in progression on to our part time programme at level 3 if an Apprenticeship is gained. Students will be trained to current edition of the wiring regulations.
Other Details
Students will be required to purchase all items included in the vocational kit that related to this programme at their own expense.
