Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour and it involves the examination of various theories and considerations of research evidence.  In Psychology you will look to answer questions such as: “Is anorexia genetic or learned?”, How does stress lead to illness?” and “Are nurseries bad for children?”

    The teaching and learning on this course include teacher led presentations, discussions, practicals, student led presentations and workshop activities



    Method of Assessment

    Your knowledge will be assessed by means of externally assessed and internally assessed examinations.

    Progression Routes

    Psychology can lead to lots of different career options, including teaching, nursing, personnel and human resources, research scientists, not to mention the obvious careers in clinical, educational, occupational, health and counselling psychologists


    Other Details

    On successful completion of the course you will receive an A level in Psychology, equivalent to up to 140 UCAS points depending on your examination grade.  Early exit from the course is possible at the end of the first year and satisfactory completion of the first year modules will result in an AS level psychology, equivalent to up to 60 UCAS points depending on your examination grades
