Key facts for full-time higher education students

- Tuition fee is £3,225 per year for UK and EU students on full-time undergraduate programmes starting from 1st September 2009
- New tuition fee loan of up to £3,225 per year to eligible full-time students, no fees are paid up front. Non-means tested and only repayable when studies are completed and you're earning over £15,000 per year.
- 'Carlisle College Bursary Scheme' of £1,080 for those on eligible courses (non-means tested) paid by installment over 3 terms direct into the students bank account.

Students living and studying in England- Maintenance Grant worth up to £2,906 per year, non-repayable but means tested.
- Increased student loans (75% non-means tested) repayable when earning over £15,000 per year.
- Additional financial help for full-time students in particular personal circumstances.
- College 'Access to Learning Fund' for those on eligible courses. Additional financial support for those students experiencing exceptional financial difficulties. Application form available from September from Student Support Services.

Students living in Scotland and studying at Carlisle College
You will have to pay tuition fees of £3,225, but will be able to apply to SAAS for a student loan to pay part or all of your fees. You will also be able to apply for a student loan for living costs. This loan is means-tested. There may also be some additional support for you such as the Students’ Outside Scotland Bursary, the Additional Loan for young students, and a grant to help with travel costs.
