You’re hired! Carlisle College launch new apprentice matching website
Carlisle College, one of the region’s biggest apprentice and work based learning training providers has launched a new website, www.cumbriaapprenticeships.co.uk which looks to match Cumbrian businesses with prospective apprentices.
As well as providing information on the 16 different apprenticeship schemes the college offers, the new website features a unique vacancy matching service which looks to bring businesses offering specific apprenticeship opportunities together with potential candidates.
Apprenticeships are proven to be one of the most effective ways for businesses to recruit, train and develop a loyal and highly skilled workforce; the college has a long history of working in direct partnership with local employers to ensure that the skills and training provided are relevant to their needs and that apprentices are better prepared for their future careers.
Commenting on the launch of the new website Andrew Sullivan, Business Development Manager at Carlisle College said, “We’ve been successfully delivering apprenticeships and work based learning across Cumbria for many years and we felt there was a need to create a ‘one stop shop’ for those interested in offering an apprenticeship and those looking to start one.
“The site provides everything you need to know about apprenticeships. It allows businesses and individuals the opportunity to submit their requirements and details and then we look to match them up and develop a suitable training programme. All the opportunities available are then featured on a live jobs board on the site and there are also details about eligibility, funding and a live Twitter feed from @cumbria_apps sharing apprenticeship news from across the region.”
The College is ideally placed for skills delivery with facilities unrivalled in north Cumbria, and in November 2011 opened the doors of its brand new £10million campus in the heart of Carlisle. College facilities include bespoke construction workshops, state of the art engineering facilities, new high tech hair and beauty salons as well as a range of learning spaces which can be tailored to meet individual needs.
The support offered to Apprentices at Carlisle College is second to none, with access to all the facilities and resources available at the College. This includes the dedicated Student Support team who offer a range of services including careers advice, financial advice, counselling and extra curricular activities including trips and social events.
