Student Voice

Carlisle College is committed to ensuring that every student's voice is heard and that students are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to be involved in making decisions about your student experience, how you are supported and the type of teaching and learning experience you want.

Student Council

The Student Council is formed from class representatives and any student who wishes to volunteer. Their purpose is to:
  • Represent what students think
  • Promote , encourage and co-ordinate student activities
  • Promote the welfare of students

This helps students gain a better understanding of how the college works, great work experience and looks fantastic on their CVs

Class Reps

We want every student at Carlisle College to be able to express their views so we have elected reps from each college course who attend meetings to represent the view and opinions of their class. Class reps act as a link between the student council and the college management.

College students can also send their views via email to studentviews@carlisle.ac.uk

NUS Extra Card

As a Carlisle College student you are entitled to a NUS Extra Card. This is the national and official student discount card. This card gives you access to loads of fanastic discounts from online stores to high street shops. The card is available to purchase from www.nus.org.uk.

Volunteering/Community Work

Have you got some spare time?

Are there times when you are bored?

Would you like to meet new people?

How about gaining some new skills and experiences?

If you can say yes to any of the above then why not volunteer?

Volunteering is a great way for you to get involved in College life and have a positive impact in the community. You can gain a certificate in the Colleges volunteering scheme for the time you dedicate to volunteering, which may well impress a future employer or university.

There is so much to do throughout the year, your time at Carlisle College will be both exciting and rewarding.
