Transform your home with confidence by joining our hands‑on DIY Skills for Adults course, running every Tuesday evening from 17:00–20:00 over eight weeks. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to sharpen their practical abilities, this engaging course covers essential techniques including hanging wallpaper, fitting skirting boards, installing door handles, plaster patching, and basic pointing. Guided by friendly, knowledgeable tutors, you’ll build real‑world skills step by step and finish the course feeling empowered to tackle home projects with ease. Whether you’re renovating, refreshing, or simply keen to learn, this course is the perfect place to start.

This course runs at various points throughout the year. The next cohort is currently planned to start in mid to late November. Once you have applied, you will be placed on a waitlist, and we will contact you to confirm the course start date and provide further information when this is available.

Course costs

If your annual personal income is below £26,800, you may be eligible to study this course free of charge.

If your income exceeds this amount, government funding may reduce the amount you need to pay to a total of £345.

Eligibility for government funding is subject to residency and funding criteria. Applicants who do not meet these requirements may be required to pay the full course fee of £690

Where fees apply, payment can be made in four monthly instalments, with the first payment due at enrolment.

When will the course run?
