We’re extremely proud to celebrate 4 special awards at the prestigious Golden Apple Awards 2025, held on Thursday, 9th October at Carlisle Racecourse.
The annual event, hosted by Newsquest Cumbria in partnership with the University of Cumbria, brought together educators and institutions from across the region to celebrate excellence in education.
The ceremony was hosted by Mike Zeller and judged by a panel led by Cherry Tingle, Head Judge from Energy Coast UTC, who praised the calibre of nominations: “If you are in this room tonight, you are absolutely a winner.”
As a college, our colleagues and one of our students took home 4 awards:
- 🏆 Outstanding Achievement Award – Paul Taylor
- 🏆 Best Industry Engagement – Carlisle College, Skills Summit
- 🏆Best Student – Dylan Woolerton
- 🏆Best Education Professional Newcomer – Simon Bell

In addition to these wins, Carlisle College proudly sponsored two key categories: Best Education Professional Newcomer and Best Secondary School, as part of our commitment to supporting and recognising excellence across the education sector.
