The annual Carlisle Skills Fair, returned to Carlisle College on Thursday 23rd January, which saw more than 80 local businesses, employers and training providers showcase opportunities and future careers.

The popular skills fair, organised by former Carlisle MP John Stevenson, is now in its 11th year and saw an estimated 1000 people attending.

From 2pm-6.30pm, students, school pupils and members of the local public visited the fair, where they could visit the various stalls and see what career and training opportunities are on offer.

Lunch was provided by our very own Hospitality and Catering students, who cooked and served a delicious meal to the exhibitors prior to the event starting. With speeches from Vice Principal Christian Thersby, and John Stevenson, to welcome exhibitors.

The event is an amazing opportunity for Carlisle College to work with so many businesses, public services, training providers, and the university. Many exhibitors return year on year as it’s an invaluable platform for them to showcase what they have to offer and meet potential future employees.
