The Claims Handler Apprentice will support the claims team in managing insurance claims from initial notification through to settlement. This is a key role within the business, acting as a point of contact for clients at what is often a stressful time, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, professionally, and in line with policy cover.

The apprentice will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the claims process, working closely with insurers, loss adjusters, and clients to progress claims and achieve the best possible outcomes.

• Keeping clients regularly updated on claim progress and managing expectations

• Reviewing policy cover and documentation to support claims decisions

• Maintaining accurate records on internal systems (e.g. Acturis)

• Supporting the team with general administration related to claims handling

• Identifying potential issues or disputes and escalating where appropriate

Learning & Development:

• Gaining a full understanding of commercial insurance products and claims processes

• Developing communication and negotiation skills when dealing with clients and insurers

• Understanding policy wordings, endorsements, and coverage interpretation

• Working towards a relevant insurance qualification (e.g. Cert CII) as part of the apprenticeship

Skills & Attributes Required:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Good attention to detail and organisational ability

• A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients

• Willingness to learn and develop within a regulated environment
