Apprenticeship Description
We are a family business that have been making solid wood kitchens since 2000, our workshop is next to Aspatria train station and we sell our kitchens throughout Cumbria, the whole of the UK and Europe. Dan (Working Director) is a Multi Skilled Engineer by trade and is a time served apprentice so he has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you. We are developing our business to include an e-commerce shop this year alongside a bigger workshop. Next year we are planning a mini showroom and building a small staff team.
Responsibilities and Duties
·Use hand and power tools
· Use various machinery including CNC, surface plane, thicknesser, drill press, spindle moulder, pocket hole, router tables etc
· Mark out and cutting timber to length
· Fill & sand timber components
· Oil/Paint components
· Build cabinets
· Fit Ironmongery
· Have the opportunity to learn programming the CNC
· Learn how to make a cutting list
· Tidy workshop Clean workshop
· Support installations at clients houses
· Be following health and safety guidelines
· Be manual handling
· Have lots of other opportunities
Skills Required
Ideally some experience with hand/power tools but not essential.
Personal Qualities
Honesty, reliability, ability to ask for help, motivation.
Working week
30 hour week Mon-Fri
Training to be provided
Carpentry & Joinery (bench) – Level 2
Entry requirements
Grade 3 in Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent qualifications
