Apprenticeship Description

Purpose of the Post:

To provide proficient support to the finance team by undertaking a variety of accounts

and administration tasks. Learning all aspects of the accounts function whilst studying

towards a Level 3 Accounts qualification.

 

Main Responsibilities:

• General administration tasks to support the accounts function, including but not

limited to emails, filing, typing notes and recording data.

• Taking inbound finance department calls and managing the shared inbox.

• Use of company platforms, databases, storage mechanisms, software and

hardware, in order to store, record and compile information efficiently.

• Determine when an issue requires escalation and do so as necessary.

• Continual development of role to ensure excellent service is maintained.

• Purchase ledger support: data entry, supplier invoice capture and processing.

• Sales ledger support: issuing sales ledger invoices, credit notes and statements.

• Supporting procurement, projects and accounts production.

• Other finance and administration tasks, as required.

• Working within and beyond the finance team in a collaborative and supportive

manner, to achieve the objectives of the team and organisation.

 

Person Specification:

This role will suit a candidate that is keen to develop a career in accounts and can

demonstrate the following skills:

• Excellent communication skills (essential);

• Numerate (essential);

• Ability to problem solve and use of initiative (essential);

• Team player with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships (essential);

• Good organisational skills (essential);

• Proficient IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook and Word

(essential).

 

Qualifications needed:

Maths & English GCSE grade 4 / C or equivalent qualification
