Apprenticeship Description

We are looking for an IT Systems Apprentice to join our small, busy IT team, reporting to the IT manager. We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for IT. You will work towards your Level 3 ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This role will allow you to develop and learn on the job technical and professional skills along with classroom-based learning.

Your duties will include supporting all aspects of IT onsite and at all our sites communicating via email, phone, face-to-face interactions onsite and offsite with our system users. Over time you will become a valuable member of the It team and 1st line of support for the company and where necessary provide help to other members of the team on projects.

A willingness to learn coding/scripting would be advantageous to the role to aid in the development of bespoke software and reports to aid automation and streamline processes. 

You will have good and effective communication skills as well as the ability to prioritise your workload and good attention to detail. 

 

Responsibilities / Duties

Pro-actively monitor IT Systems through our remote Management (RMM) software and resolve any potential issues to help ensure minimum downtime.

  • Perform Daily and Weekly routines to ensure backups are rotated and systems are up to date and running as expected and reporting any issues.
  • Create and update company documentation
  • Maintain hardware device register and register new devices
  • Working with Network management software/documentation, IP Address Management systems, Audits and Compliance
  • Provide internal IT support via email, phone, face-to-face interactions, and ticketing system.
  • Install, configure and maintain company Wi-Fi, laptops, servers, desktops, phones, mobiles and printers and software
  •  Provide support to the other members of the team as required on issues or projects.
  •  On-boarding and off-boarding employees and performing office moves as required.
  • Ensure asset logs and support cases are up to date
  • Work with Microsoft 365 cloud technologies as well as company ERP systems
  • Opportunities for scripting, SQL reports, software & web development and automation of systems and processes as the role progresses.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft programs
  • Basic understanding of computing

Entry Requirements:

Grade 4 in Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent qualification.
