The HNC in Engineering is a vocational higher education qualification, designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to be able to apply in a specific work-related environment.
This qualification is valued by employers both in the UK and overseas, and can count towards incorporated membership of professional bodies.
You will focus on developing a deeper understanding of the underpinning mechanical and electrical principles associated with engineering. There will be a focus on developing knowledge of higher Mathematics, whilst working towards units in Science and Design. All study units are grouped and delivered in a way which allows you to link areas of engineering together, providing you skill sets which can be used in the workplace. This qualification can be completed within an apprenticeship study programme.

Extra Studies:Most study approaches are theoretical, with a view to being able to apply theory to job roles. This will involve the use of IT, along with engineering specific equipment and software. The engineering workshop will be used where appropriate for practical study.
