In Creative Partnership with The Sands Centre, The Old Fire Station, Soundwave and The Youth Zone, this new 1-year course has been created to embed skills required in the local industry.
You will study in college for 3-days a week in addition to a day’s placement, which will be coordinated by your tutor.
It is most suited to:
those who have completed their A Levels (18-year-olds) and wanting another year to prepare for university/increase UCAS points or employment
mature students (19+) who wish to develop their knowledge and skills further (fees may apply).
The course focuses on events management with strands of music performance and carries a maximum of 84 UCAS points. You will work as a team, organising events, developing your leadership and organisational skills alongside technical and operational knowledge. You will also continue developing your musical skillset by participating in performances and composing your own music. Within the course, you will perform live as a band in the college theatre, a selection of songs from across a variety of genres, compose a track, which infuses different styles of music using DAW to record and produce your track, play a variety of songs from different musical genres, using the techniques associated with each genre, and research a chosen area of the industry and use your work placement experience to inform your studies.

Full-time, 3 days a week with evening performances and a day work placement.
Digital portfolio made up of essays, reviews, podcasts, videos, interviews and reports.
- 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) and above, including maths and English,
