Enrolment is the process that officially confirms your place at college. During enrolment, you’ll confirm the course you’re taking and its level, and provide all the necessary information we need to enrol you. Once you’ve completed this process, you’ll be officially enrolled as a college student.

Enrolment will take place in person at Carlisle College.

When you visit us at enrolment, you will be greeted by our friendly reception team who will get you signed in and explain the next steps.

Step 2 - ID checks

Step 3 - Curriculum

Step 4 - Maths and English

Step 5 - Additional learning support and exam access arrangements

We aim to make the enrolment process as smooth and efficient as possible. However, please be aware that it may take some time to complete, as the College is legally required to collect accurate information to support your transition into college life. To help things run smoothly, please allow yourself approximately 1-2 hours to complete your enrolment.

Yes, you are welcome to bring someone with you while you complete your enrolment.

If you miss the enrolment period or your allocated time slot, please get in touch as soon as possible for us to provide you with a new time to come and enrol.

If you have applied, you should have received multiple emails and text messages with the details of your enrolment appointment. Please get in touch with admissions@carlisle.ac.uk to discuss.

If you are unsure about the course you have chosen, you will have the opportunity to speak to your tutor and make sure it is right for you. If you start a course and then decide it is not for you, you will have 4 weeks to be able to switch to another course that suits you better (subject to availability).

Yes, as part of the enrolment process you will speak to our curriculum team and they will be able to answer any queries you have about the course.

There is still a chance for you to apply and enrol for a September start. Just head to our Apply Now page and apply for your chosen course.

If you are a student progressing onto the next level of your course, you should have already received texts inviting you in to sign your learning agreement. 

If you are a returning learner starting a different course, you will receive an email and text with the details of your allocated enrolment time slot.

You will be shown an example timetable during your enrolment.

This timetable is only a provisional timetable which can be subject to change. Session times, tutors and rooms may change between your enrolment and your return to College.

The provisional timetable will only show your core course aims, but you may be required to attend further sessions depending on your study programme.

Yes, you will be able to speak to our Learning Support Team about any additional support you may need during your time at College.

When you speak to curriculum, they will provide you with the details of getting any equipment and/or uniform that you need for your course.

There is limited parking at the college. However, there are disc zone spaces along Victoria Place, Strand Road, and Lismore Place which will allow you to park for 2 hours. This should allow enough time for you to complete your enrolment.

There are also plenty of car parks in Carlisle City Centre which will be just a 5-10 minute walk from the College.

We are required to take your photograph for your student ID badge when you enrol. This will be taken during the enrolment process.

You’ll receive your ID badge and lanyard at enrolment once you have completed all the required steps at our enrolment event.
