Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance and Production
Music & Music Production
This one year highly practical course is delivered across three days with a combination of practical workshops and contextual studies and carries a maximum of 84 UCAS points.
It is suitable for:
School leavers (16-year-olds), who have just completed their GCSEs.
Those who have completed their A Levels (18-year-olds) and wanting another year to prepare for university/increase UCAS points or employment.
Mature students (19+) who wish to develop their knowledge and skills further (fees may apply).
Real life’ projects enable students to be assessed through industry related tasks which develop:
Music skills; playing / singing techniques of a variety of musical genres including pop / rock / jazz / blues / funk / soul, playing in a band / as a soloist, home studio recording skills, music history, music licensing, music business, music theory, live events, musical vocabulary.
Transferrable Skills; website design, video editing, finances, digital design (Photoshop), marketing and promotion, journalism, event planning, Microsoft Excel / Teams / PowerPoint, podcasts, presenting skills, primary and secondary research with Harvard referencing, teamwork, and independence.
The music industry is changing all the time; therefore, it is important that students are kept up to date with current trends and have access to professionals working in the industry today.
Our lecturers are practitioners and understand the demands on today’s working musicians and ensure, on completion of the course, that students are equipped with the knowledge to progress.

Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology
Music & Music Production
This Level 3 one-year entry course is designed for students who wish to broaden their skills and knowledge in music recording, sound production and technical events areas of lighting, visuals and sound.
This course will prepare students for employment and progression to higher education and is equivalent to 3 AS Levels. It is also a requirement for entry onto the Extended Diploma in Music Production.
The course is predominately project led and has collaborative projects with Music, Media and Performing Arts courses providing students with exciting hands-on vocational learning experiences.
You will take part in both academic and practical studies alongside other like-minded and creative students who all share a keen interest in the music and sound industries.
On this course you will be working with other students in a supervised, structured and well-resourced environment. These resources include a professional recording studio, post-production suite, music lab and music practice rooms, all equipped with industry standard hardware and software.

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology

This one-year course is designed for progressing Music Production students who wish to extend and further develop their skills and knowledge in music recording, sound production, events management and project development.
The course is predominately project led with collaborations with Music, Media and Performing Arts courses and prepares students for employment as well as Higher Education. It provides students with exciting hands-on vocational learning experiences.

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music

This highly practical one year programme is a top-up course for those who have completed the L3 Diploma in Music Performance.
It is delivered across three days with a combination of practical workshops and contextual studies and carries a maximum of 168 UCAS points.

Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Music Performance, Events and Management
Music & Music Production
In Creative Partnership with The Sands Centre, The Old Fire Station, Soundwave and The Youth Zone, this new 1-year course has been created to embed skills required in the local industry.
You will study in college for 3-days a week in addition to a day’s placement, which will be coordinated by your tutor.
It is most suited to:
those who have completed their A Levels (18-year-olds) and wanting another year to prepare for university/increase UCAS points or employment
