Carlisle College is proud to announce it has been officially recognised as a Learner Happiness College, following its partnership with Learner Happiness and the completion of a comprehensive wellbeing survey with its learners.
As part of NCG, Carlisle College took part in a group-wide initiative to better understand student experiences, gathering feedback from learners on what matters most to them - from feeling safe and supported, to having a voice in shaping their college experience.
The insights gained will play a key role in shaping the college’s priorities, ensuring it continues to create a positive, inclusive environment where learners can thrive.
Lisa Hoseason, Deputy Principal of NCG, said: “At NCG, we believe that when learners feel happy, safe and supported, they are far more likely to thrive both academically and personally.
“Achieving Learner Happiness status across our colleges is a significant step forward in ensuring that every learner’s voice is heard and acted upon. The insights we’ve gained are already helping us shape more inclusive, responsive environments where learners can truly succeed, and we are committed to building on this momentum in the years ahead.
“We are incredibly proud to see our colleges recognised with Learner Happiness status. At the heart of this work is a simple principle: when learners feel valued, heard and supported, they are better able to achieve their goals.”
Suzy Willings, Assistant Principal for Learner Experience at Carlisle added: “At Carlisle College, we are committed to listening to our learners and acting on what they tell us. The feedback we’ve received through the Learner Happiness Survey is invaluable, helping us to strengthen support, enhance the student experience, and ensure every learner feels they belong here.”
We will now build on this work by continuing to gather feedback, take action on learner insights, and embed wellbeing into all aspects of college life.
This recognition reflects a wider commitment across NCG to put learner happiness alongside academic achievement, ensuring students are supported to succeed both in education and beyond.
