More about the course

The course is designed to qualify you to become a Forest School assistant, enabling you to take a proactive role in helping a Forest School practitioner plan and deliver a Forest School programme and supporting the children during the programme.

Typically, you will be working in an early years setting, a school or in youth work.

The course will prepare you for working in a Forest School setting, looking at a variety of skills to support you to do this.  You will look at how to manage sessions safely, including use of knives, ropes, shelters, fires, identification of flora and fauna, as well as how to manage risk in a safe manner.
