This course will support you in your entry to a career in the Motor Vehicle Industry and will give you a very good insight into the nature of the Motor Industry as well as the standards and levels of professionalism expected.

This course focuses on the core automotive and technical skills values by employers in the workplace.

You will develop your knowledge and skills of light goods vehicles / cars. You will become proficient in the use of industry-standard equipment and prepare for life in a busy working motor vehicle garage.

You will learn the ins and outs of job roles and responsibilities in the motor industry, and be supported to work out what it is you’d like to do.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) and above, including English and maths

What will I achieve?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Motor Vehicle Studies.

Work experience opportunities

All students will be required to complete a minimum of 35 hours work placement.

English and Maths

English and Maths skills are both essential and required within the Automotive sector. Your sessions will help with developing these skills further by embedding key skills with all delivered lessons.

Where can I progress?

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to apply for an Apprenticeship, look for a position as a Motor Vehicle Technician or progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Studies.
