On a bricklaying apprenticeship, you will experience a real-life work environment whilst learning new skills and gaining knowledge towards the subject, as well as learning how to present yourself in a work place environment.

This apprenticeship is a great starting point if you want to get into the building industry and build a foundation for a strong future. You’ll learn all about different materials, construction techniques and energy efficiency both at college and in your workplace.

Entry requirements

Candidates require Level 1 Maths and English (equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) or above).

Where can I progress?

After successfully completing the Level 2 Bricklayer apprenticeship, you will be able to progress into higher positions within the industry or continue your studies with a Level 3 or higher apprenticeship, HNC or HND.

On completion of this Apprenticeship, the apprentice will have satisfied the requirements to obtain a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at the appropriate level.

English and maths

Individuals who have not yet achieved a Level 2 in English and/or Maths will be taught this alongside their course to work towards achieving their Level 2, enabling you to progress your career in the future.

For those who have achieved their Maths & English at Level 2, these skills are embedded within course content.

Apprenticeship pay

Your employer will pay you Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage as a minimum, in line with national minimum wage regulations. Your rate of pay will be agreed with your employer.
