Want to enhance your skills and knowledge in the world of Plastering?

This qualification offers the opportunity for you to demonstrate an achievement of practical skills, understanding and knowledge in plaster skimming and will provide you with a comprehensive skill set to enable you to progress to employment in the construction sector.

The aim of this course is to enable you to gain an insight to the importance of health and safety within the construction industry, setting up a business and developing the skills to become a Plaster Skimmer.

Entry requirements

Learners must already have developed skills with the use of plastering tools either through previous work or training.
This course is not suited to those with no plastering experience

Students studying level 2 plaster skimming at Carlisle College will have the opportunities to work in partnership with British Gypsum, using the latest products to showcase technical skills locally and nationally.

English and Maths will be embedded into practical and theory sessions, reinforcing communication, calculations and knowledge, skills and behaviour.

Achievement of this qualifications confirms the learner has gained the knowledge and skills required to:

Progress directly into employment as a plaster skimmer
