More about the course

The course provides the technical skills and knowledge associated with painting and decorating to allow you to appeal to employers.

The structure of the course provides you with a range of experiences relating to work settings and the opportunity to work in the local community in developing skills and knowledge.

You will learn to develop technical skills around the use of access equipment, preparation and application of surfaces and producing decorative colour effects. These areas of study will develop industry standard understanding and expectations of the skill set required to work consistently in the industry.

Entry requirements

GCSEs at grade 3 (D) and above in English and maths

Equivalent

Level 1 Certificate in Painting and Decorating

What will I achieve?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will achieve a Level 2 Technical Certificate in Painting and Decorating.

English and Maths

We make sure all students have the opportunity to enhance their skills and embed maths and English throughout the course. For example, mixing ratios of materials and measuring rooms.

On successful completion of this course you can progress into employment, or an apprenticeship.
