Level 3 BTEC AAQ Extended Certificate in Information Technology

This qualification can provide up to 56 UCAS points (Distinction*) a recognised pathway into university, apprenticeships or employment within the growing digital sector.

English, maths and digital skills are embedded throughout the course to support learners’ academic and professional development. This is compulsory for those aged 16-19 years who do not have a grade 4 or above.

With experience and specialist skills, many professionals in the digital sector can earn £50,000+ in roles such as senior developer, cyber security specialist, or IT project manager.

16–18 learners This course is fully funded for students aged 16–18, meaning there are no fees.

Adult learners (19+) If you are aged 19 or over, you may still be eligible for funding depending on your previous qualifications and personal circumstances.

You may qualify for:

• Fully funded study if this is your first full Level 3 qualification
• Advanced Learner Loan funding if you already hold a Level 3 qualification

Advanced Learner Loans work similarly to student loans for university. You only start repaying the loan once you earn over the government repayment threshold.
