This programme will support you in gaining employment in the construction industry specifically in bricklaying.
This is an excellent springboard to gaining an apprenticeship in bricklaying and will develop the skills necessary to repair walls, refurbish structures in line with construction plans and work as part of a construction team.
This course covers a range of areas of study that combine theoretical and practical study. You will develop your practical skills through extensive practical lessons focused upon ‘learning by doing’. At key points in the course, you will have input from employers. This involvement in the delivery and / or assessment of qualifications enriches your learning, raises the credibility of the qualification in the eyes of employers, parents and students and furthers collaboration between the learning and skills sector and industry

- Building cavity walls
- Building solid walls
- Setting out buildings
Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying
Extra Studies:A mathematics and / or English qualification if relevant
There will be a combination of workshop based practical activities supported by formal demonstrations and classroom activities covering the required underpinning knowledge.
This is a mixture of theoretical examination and a final ‘synoptic’ exam which will assess all of your knowledge, skills and understanding.
- 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or equivalent,
- Mature Students with relevant experience and / or other qualifications may be eligible,
- You will also need to demonstrate the ability to achieve a Level 1 in English and Maths as part of a programme of study.

On successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma, you may progress an apprenticeship bricklaying in industry.
