This qualification aims to provide you with the specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to the travel and tourism sector, over a 2-year course. It covers areas such as preparing for a career, customer service, travel agency operations and tour guiding, which can be applied to current or future employment in a variety of roles.
The content has been developed with employers, subject experts, and Tutors to ensure that it’s relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers.
The qualification provides the basis for you to progress into employment within the travel and tourism sector.
It would support progression into an Apprenticeship, employment or into higher level studies, as it has UCAS points.
Throughout the year you will study a range of topics. You will develop a deep understanding of the importance of health and safety in the sector. Guest speakers are booked in during the academic year to enhance your learning experience and knowledge. Works experience – the expectation is that all learners will complete one month of block work placement at the end of the academic year, within local hospitality settings.

- Marketing for travel and tourism
- The UK conference and event industry
- UK tour operations
- UK passenger transport industry
- UK heritage tourist attractions

Extra Studies:--
You will learn through observing and participating in a wide range of practical activities. There will be a varied mode of delivery across the units.
As part of this qualification, you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format. Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the portfolio of evidence. Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms: *Observed work through practical *Witness statements *Written questions *Oral questions *Assignments *Case studies
- 5 GCSEs grades 9-4 / (A*-C), including English and maths.

Other Details:
