More about the course

Are you interested in Science? This course will introduce you to key Science principles and applications and develop your knowledge and skills. The study programme is designed to give you a wider understanding of Science and provide you with the tools you need to continue studying in Science and work towards gaining industry-standard skills.

This Level 2 course is a foundation year designed to help you develop the knowledge and skills needed to progress onto the Science T Level. It is specifically for students aged 16 or 17 who are not yet ready to start the T Level directly.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 and above including English and Maths

Scottish equivalent

3 National 5s at grade D and above in English and Maths/Applications of Maths

You will also be invited to meet our teaching team before starting the course to participate in a diagnostic assessment which will ensure the course is the right fit for you.

English and Maths

English and maths is embedded in the course to help you enhance your skills. You will also work towards GCSE English and maths as part of your study programme at the college.

Where can I progress?

On successful completion of this course, you can progress onto the Level 3 T Level in Laboratory Science or entry-level employment.
