More about the course

The Skills for Independence and Work courses will enable students to gain an Entry 2 and / or Entry 3 Certificate in Employability Skills with support as well as Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications which are delivered in a fun way.

Enhancement activities are a key part of the course and include sport and fitness activities, trips out and art etc which develops student's opportunities for work experience.

It also develops increased independence, communication and ICT skills which leads to greater confidence and / or paid employment.

Entry requirements

You must already be working at a level appropriate to the study programme; this will be discussed at interview to see if this is the most suitable course.

What will I achieve?

Upon successful completion of this course you could work at a higher-level Entry Level 3 on this course or progress onto a Level 1 course, voluntary work or paid employment.

English and Maths

Functional Skills in maths and English are embedded into the course.

Where can I progress?

Upon completion of this course, you can progress onto a Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Further Learning and Employment, or learners with an interest in Health and Social Care, the Steps Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development is an alternative option.
